THE CENTER FOR MINDFUL LIVING
The Center for Mindful Living is dedicated to helping
people improve their health, cultivate clarity and peace,
and experience more balance in all aspects of their lives:
physical, emotional, mental and spiritual. Our lives are
busy, very busy. Here at the Center you will learn at your
own pace, simple user-friendly ways to reduce stress and
feel better.
Some people come simply because they want more balance
in their lives. Others are referred to our programs by
their doctor, therapist or past participants, but all come
because they want something better for themselves. People
come because they are experiencing family, job or financial
stress, or because they struggle with anxiety, panic or
depression. Others attend classes here that address dis-ordered
eating, ruminating thought patterns and worry, or chronic
pain. If you suffer with GI distress, sleep disturbances,
high blood pressure, diabetes, fibromyalgia or headaches
this approach may be for you. There are over two decades of
published research that documents the benefits of living
mindfully and mindfulness meditation.
MINDFULNESS IS A PATH TO
FREEDOM
We are creatures of habit. Life, on the other hand, is full
of surprises and changes, some of which upset or anger us
and we in turn react out of old patterns. Mindfulness is
learning to pay attention in a particular, non-judgmental
way to what is happening right now, allowing us the
opportunity to choose how we respond rather than react to
what life hands us. Becoming mindful is a way to use your
mind and body to do what no one else can do for you: take
charge of your well-being and feel more in control of your
life.
IF YOU CAN BREATHE, YOU CAN
MEDITATE
At the Center for Mindful Living you will systematically
learn, at your own pace, simple user-friendly meditations
and mindfulness techniques. We begin by non-judgmentally
noticing what is going on in our mind, body and around us.
Little by little the noise in our head quiets and life
becomes less disappointing and painful, more enjoyable and
hopeful. At the Center you can choose to participate in
private instruction, group programs, meditation retreats,
workshops or mindfulness-based therapy.
PROFESSIONAL TRAINING
The Center also offers workshops, retreats, seminars and
individual professional consultation designed for
professionals wishing to incorporate mindfulness into their
personal and professional life. Particular focus is on the
integration of mindfulness into therapeutic, medical and
educational settings where people with stress, depression,
anxiety, disordered eating and chronic conditions are seen.
We also tailor programs specifically to an organization or
corporation’s needs. Please contact the Center for more
information.
